St.John InterNational Airport, located in Northwest of St.Johns, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada is a public airport, owned by Transport Canada, and operated by St.John’s InterNational Airport Authority Inc. This Airport was privatized in the year 1998.

The said airport was formerly built only for defense purpose in the year 1941 by McNamara Construction Company. Its purpose was to provide security to Newfoundland (which at that time wasn’t an integral part of Canada) during the World War II from the attacks of Germany. In April 1946, the Airport was opened for civilian use.

The Airlines which offer scheduled passenger Services are – Air Canada, Provincial Airlines, Porter Airlines, Air Sainte Pierre Continental / United airlines and West Jet and those who offer Charter passenger Services are Sunwing and Air Transat.
