The National Institute of Design (NID) is an autonomous Design National School located in the Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. It was established in the year 1961 and functions under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is one of the leading design Schools of the world and is recognized as a Scientific and industrial design Research organization by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India.
