Central Drugs Laboratory is the Government run laboratory for the analysis of the quality of the drugs and cosmetics and is headed by the Drugs Controller General. CDL dates back to 1937 as the “Biochemical standardization Laboratory ” and later on it was renamed as Central Drugs Laboratory in Kolkata. It carried out its operations with four scientific units.
