Zoo in Lucknow was opened in 1921 and is commonly known as Lucknow Zoological gardens. It has occupied 71.6 acre area which includes 463 mammals, 72 reptiles and 289 birds. The zoo was developed to honour the arrival of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales when he visited to Lucknow.
