Wardha medical College or the mahatma Gandhi Institute of medical sciences is a first of a kind rural medical College situated in sevagram a village at a distance from the city of wardha in State of Maharashtra. This College is managed by the kasturba health society and is affiliated to the Maharashtra University of health sciences in nashik. This College intakes 100 Students per year through an entrance test conducted by the Institute itself which includes multiple choICE questions on physics, chemistry, biology and paper on Gandhian thoughts. It also provides the professional Excellence in the field of teaching following the integrated pattern of medical Education. The College is connected with other parts of the Country through proper road and rail links. It was started by dr. sushila nayyar who was a medical graduate in order to impart Education in the field of medical sciences to the Students. This Institute offers medical courses like mbbs, m.d, m.s. and Diploma in Medicine and surgery. The College has its own centre where Students can work as a medical offICErs and it also provides Research facilities to the Students in the field of maternal, child health care, lifestyle disorders and other related fields. The subjects taught are anatomy, biochemistry, forensic Medicine, dermatology, surgery, obstetrics, pathology, physiology, gynaecology and many more subjects according to the guidelines of medical Council of India. After passing out from College these Students undergo rotational internship for one year.
