Rainhard Jurgen Fendrich is an Austrian singer, composer, entertainer, and actor. Influential Austropop star best known for his chart-topping 1980s anthems like "Schickeria" or "Macho, Macho." He is one of the most successful Austropop musicians, and his songs are written in Viennese German. He is very popular in Austria and in Bavaria, but less so in other German-speaking countries and regions. He has received countless awards for his work over the course of his career. In 1985, he won a Pop Amadeus for “Best Composer” and in 2002 an Amadeus Award for “Best Pop/Rock Singer”. He has also won three Romy Awards for his film and TV work. By his own admission he was a lazy pupil, and shy. He got his first guitar on his 15th birthday, and taught himself how to play it and started writing songs.
