The Little Mermaid is a mermaid sculpture set up on the rock by the water side in Langelinie, Copenhagen, Denmark. It was made by sculptor Edvard Eriksen on the request of Carl Jacobsen and it was first displayed on 23 August 1913 at the present place. It was a gift from Carl Jacobsen to the Copenhagen city. It was inspired by the fairytale "The Little Mermaid" written by Danish Author Hans Christian Andersen. The sculpture was made by bronze metal. It is weight around 175 KG and 4.1 feet tall.
