Larisa Yevgenyevna Lazutina is a Soviet-Russian former professional cross-country skier. he won many medals at the Olympics and World Championships, and was considered one of the greatest Russian female cross-country skiers. She is also the namesake of a popular ski slope near Moscow. Larisa Lazutina is famous for being a highly decorated Russian cross-country skier, known for winning numerous medals at both the Olympics and World Championships, including multiple gold medals in relay races, making her one of the most successful female skiers in the sport's history; however, her career was also marked by a doping scandal that resulted in the stripping of her 2002 Olympic medals. Lazutina earned numerous medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. She won a total of sixteen medals, including eleven gold, three silver and two bronze medals.
