Jean-Paul Duminy, more commonly known as JP Duminy, is a South African cricket commentator, and former international cricketer. He was vice-captain of the South Africa Twenty20 team. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm off spin bowler. Duminy is best known for his cover drive, square cut, quick wrists and athletic fielding. With more than a decade of international cricket to his name, his most prized accomplishment was becoming South Africa's leading T20 run-scorer, in 2013, as well as the first from the country to amass 1500 runs in the format. In the 2015 World Cup, Duminy became the first South African to take a hat-trick in a World Cup match. In the same World Cup, he and David Miller set the record for the highest fifth wicket partnership in ODI history with 256 runs. JP Duminy is the head coach of the Sharjah Warriorz in the International League T20 (ILT20). He was appointed to the role in September 2024. Duminy previously coached the Paarl Royals in the SA20 and the domestic team Boland. He also served as South Africa's white-ball batting coach, but stepped down in December 2024 for personal reasons.
