Ellawalakankanamge Asoka Ranjit de Silva is a Sri Lankan former cricketer and umpire who played in 10 Test matches and 28 One Day Internationals from 1985 to 1992. He was educated at Isipathana College, Colombo. He was the first Sri Lankan umpire to be on the ICC's Elite Umpires Panel. Asoka de Silva is most famous for being a prominent Sri Lankan cricket umpire, recognized for his career officiating in multiple Cricket World Cups (2003, 2007, and 2011), and notably becoming the first Sri Lankan umpire to be included in the ICC Elite Panel; he also had a brief playing career for Sri Lanka in the 1980s, playing in 10 Test matches and 28 ODIs as a right-arm leg-spinner.
