Annemarie Moser-Pröll is a former World Cup alpine ski racer from Austria. Born in Kleinarl, Salzburg, she was the most successful female alpine ski racer during the 1970s, with an all-time women's record of six overall titles, including five consecutively. In 1980, her last year as a competitor, she secured her third Olympic medal (and first gold) at Lake Placid and won five World Cup races. Annemarie Moser-Pröll was the outstanding skier of the 1970s, winning the overall World Cup six times, becoming world champion five times and Olympic champion in the downhill in 1980. In addition, she won 62 races in the Ski World Cup - a record that was only surpassed after 35 years. In 1999, Moser-Pröll was named the best female skier of the century at the World Sports Awards.
